The company was founded by Dipl.-Ing Peter Denz in the heart of Schwabing, Münich for the development and production of cinematographic film and video products as well as the production and development of high-precision parts for high profile customers.
Revolutionary in the world market was the development of the first Video Control System for which the founder received the first of many patents.
In the following years the company expanded steadily and developed new products such as the the Servo Zoom Control and Universal Angle Bridge Plate.
These successes allowed amongst others, the purchase of the most modern lathes and cutting machines.
The company was converted into a limited company with the now familiar name:
Präzisions-Entwicklung DENZ Fertigungs-GmbH
Because of a larger customer order for the development of a magnetic-levitation train
the company moved from its rented premises to a larger manufacturing facility in the east of Munich. This allowed the needed expansion of machinery, among them the CNC milling machine with pattern control.
The takeover of the DENIZ company and its underwater housing and accessories products, resulting with the common Denz-Deniz logo.
The company developed continuously, both with Denz-Deniz products and the manufacturing of precision parts for a growing list high profile customers. This resulted in
further investment in the production area and machinery, such as a new fully air-conditioned precision measurement room. Parallel to the manufacture of precision parts, it develops and expands its professional film and video product range, the company is represented at many international trade fairs.
The development and subsequent introduction of the Video Control Systems Color at the Los Angeles trade fair was groundbreaking, success was assured!
After further extremely successful years, the company relocated to a new, larger facility in Ottobrunn, near Munich, with a production area of 3,400 m².
The effort and striving to always be innovative and quality-conscious, earned the company the Academy of Motion Pictures Award (Oscar for technical Performance) and the Cinec Award for camera technology, which was also the merit of its employees.
The high quality standards of DENZ enabled the company – as allready in the aerospace industry – to also start manufacturing parts for Formula 1 motor racing engines.
In addition, the company continued to develop numerous products for the film and video sector, such as digital image transfer, motif finder, Cardan Shift & Tilt System, bridge plates, focus device FFS-19 – all successful products worldwide.
To the desire of our demanding customers in precision parts manufacturing and attracting new customers led to the certification according to DIN ISO 9001:2008.
Along with many other trade mark rights, which the company acquired in the course of time, the FDC was also patented as a excellant measuring and adjusting device for digital video cameras, which was presented at the NAB show in Las Vegas.
Developed in this year and bringing the company great success was Denz Canon Evo Collection, consisting of the well known Canon cameras: 7D evo, evo 5D Mark II and 1D Mark IV evo PL54-versions.
With the global transition from film to HD video in the movie business, the product range was restructured and expanded accordingly.
