apertus° AXIOM Gamma – Kickoff Event

Under the slogan “Reclaim Control of your Craft!” the EU project to develop the AXIOM Gamma officially kicked-off in Vienna in the last week of March. Project partners traveled to Vienna from different EU countries and it was the first time all at once met each other personally. The kick-off started with a public presentation at the University of Applied Arts Innovation Laboratory and included a lot of discussion with the community and event guests. The partners then spent a day at the Artistic Technology Lab at the University of Applied Arts engaged in project related discussions and refining technical implementation details.

“It was great to see how very different technical aspects of the camera design were discussed, each partner sharing their expertise. Unlike most development projects, all partners take part in defining the system, not just designing according to predefined requirements.”
Magnus Asplund, af inventions

“Thanks for a very good meeting last week, it was fantastic to meet everyone in person. I was very happy to see we have a very well picked consortium and we can have good progress together.”
Michael Gielda, Antmicro

“It was fantastic to host all the partners at the Artistic Technology Lab and see the intertwining of everyone’s respective expertise. The project is going to have a very bright future.”
Matthias Tarasiewicz, University of Applied Arts

“This first personal meeting with all partners was very productive and for me created the foundation for long lasting friendships beyond this project. I was surprised how far in depth we managed to get with discussing technical details of the planned developments in this short time frame. And most important of all: I got to cut the cake :)”
Oscar Spierenburg, apertus° Association Vice Chairman

“From my point of view, an essential meeting that has created confidence in all involved parties, each of it is an expert in his field! The efficiency of the project at the first meeting was amazing, in my opinion, almost all interfaces have already been voted on this first day, which can usually last more than one week. My personal motto for this project is: To be at the right time at the right place and EVERYTHING is possible.”
Gerald Stekly, DENZ Präzisionsentwicklungs GmbH
